In October 2023, we approach the 15th anniversary of owning Carizma. It feels like a good time to look back to when we first bought the house which we now call our home in Barbados.
When we first bought the house it was called "Baltic House". We don't know why. Maybe somebody out there knows the answer? To us the word "Baltic" creates an image of somewhere freezing cold - not something we associate with the tropical weather of Barbados.
So we decided on a name change.
Not an easy thing to do although we had a lot of inspiration from the beautiful surroundings of the island. Whilst renovating and updating, we came across some perfect floor tiles to lay across the whole house. The name of the tiles was "Carizma". At the time we joked that the house would be full of charisma with these tiles - perfect! And that's how "Carizma" was established.
