Flying from Manchester to Barbados in 2026/27: Direct Flights, Airlines & Tips

If you’re planning a Barbados holiday from the North of England, winter 2026/27 gives you direct flight options from Manchester.
For travellers in the North West, Yorkshire and surrounding areas, flying from Manchester can make the journey much easier than travelling south to London first.
Can you fly direct from Manchester to Barbados?
Yes.
Virgin Atlantic is operating seasonal direct flights from Manchester Airport (MAN) to Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) from 26 October 2026 until 19 March 2027.
Virgin currently lists direct flights four times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. Indirect Manchester–Barbados flights via London Heathrow are available outside the seasonal period.
As flight schedules can change, it’s always worth checking the airline’s latest timetable before booking.
What about TUI from Manchester to Barbados?
TUI also operates direct flights from Manchester to Barbados during the winter season, which it currently describes as running from November to April.
TUI is a little different from Virgin Atlantic because many of its Barbados flights form part of its wider holiday and Caribbean cruise programme. Flight-only seats can also become available, so it’s worth checking TUI as well as Virgin if your dates are flexible.
We usually look at both Virgin Atlantic and TUI when comparing our own Manchester-to-Barbados options.
How long is the flight from Manchester to Barbados?
A direct flight from the UK to Barbados is around eight and a half hours
For us, being able to start the holiday at Manchester rather than travelling down to Heathrow makes a big difference.
Virgin Atlantic or TUI?
There isn’t one option that will suit everyone.
Virgin Atlantic offers a scheduled seasonal Manchester service and a choice of cabins, including Economy, Premium and Upper Class.
TUI can be worth checking too, particularly when flight-only seats are available on its Barbados services.
Our tip is simply to compare both airlines and several travel dates rather than assuming one will always be cheaper.
Flight prices can change considerably, so we haven’t included fares in this guide.
What happens when you arrive in Barbados?
All these flights arrive at Grantley Adams International Airport, in the south of Barbados.
Carizma Villa is further north in St Peter on the West Coast, close to Speightstown and Heywoods Beach.
If you’ve pre-booked a hire car for collection at the airport, you can simply collect it when you arrive and drive to the villa.
If you haven’t hired a car, there are plenty of taxis available at the airport, so there’s no need to arrange a taxi or private driver in advance. You can simply take a taxi directly to Carizma.
We’ve included the actual amount we paid for a taxi between the airport and Carizma in our Barbados holiday costs guide.
Do you need a car when staying at Carizma?

Not necessarily.
Carizma is around a 10–12 minute walk from Speightstown and Heywoods Beach, so you can reach beaches, cafés, restaurants and shops without having to drive everywhere.
Some guests enjoy having a hire car to explore more of Barbados, while others are happy using the local buses and taxis.
If you’re wondering whether you need to hire a car at all, we’ve written another guide about staying near Speightstown without a car.
Why stay near Speightstown?

We might be slightly biased, but this is one of the things we love most about Carizma’s location.
Speightstown has beaches, cafés, restaurants, shops and plenty of Bajan character, while still retaining a relaxed atmosphere.
You can spend the day on the beach, wander into town for breakfast or lunch, or simply head back to the villa and relax.
Carizma gives you your own space in a quiet residential area while keeping you close to the West Coast.
Flying from somewhere other than Manchester?
Of course.
This particular guide is aimed at people searching for Manchester-to-Barbados flights, but Carizma welcomes guests from around the world.
Virgin Atlantic also operates daily direct flights from London Heathrow to Barbados, while the island is accessible from Canada, the USA and other international destinations.
So if Manchester isn’t your departure airport, the rest of our Barbados and Speightstown guides should still be useful.
